A combination of constant requests from his clients wanting something more, and recognizing a lack of quality education on the web helped lead to the creation of Find Your Cast.
Matt and Lu have two sons, Declan 9, and Easton 4, following in the family footsteps.

-Matt is the Reno/Tahoe Reginal Director for Cast Hope. A 501(c)3 non profit focused on getting at risk and underserved youth on the water through fly fishing.
– Matt graduated from the NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School) Fly Fishing and Backpacking Leadership course in Patagonia.
– He worked for the Federation of Fly Fishers in Livingston MT as the Angling and Aquatic Educator, and then as the Anglers Against Weeds Coordinator.
– He and his team have taught over 10,000 students and clients from around the world.
- Matt received degrees from SUNY Morrisville and SUNY Cortland. B.S. Recreation, A.A.S Aquaculture and Aquatic Science, Minor, Outdoor Recreation Management, Concentration, Environmental Education.
– From 2007-2012 Matt worked, traveled and fished the country with the Fly Fishing Film Tour. The F3T is the number one entertainment event in the fishing industry.
– Matt has been featured in numerous fly fishing, outdoor, and travel publications, including national TV commercials, Field and Stream radio, and live TV on ABC’s Sacramento & Company.
– His Pro Staff and Sponsorship affiliations include, Sage, RIO Products, Simms and Costa Del Mar.
– He has fished extensively in the United States and throughout the world including Alaska, British Columbia, Hawaii, Bahamas, Chile, Cuba, Mexico, Belize, Honduras, Aruba, and Bonaire.

Matts Impressive Instructional Accolades Include
For the last 5 years Matt has been a celebrity speaker and casting presenter for the industries largest traveling event, The Fly Fishing Show.
Matt was lucky enough to apprentice under some of Montana's top fly casting instructors and personalities. In 2006 he became a Fly Fishers International Certified Casting Instructor.
For the last 7 years Matt has been a featured presenter and caster for the largest outdoor road show in the US, the International Sportsman's Expo. In 2015 he also won the Best of the West casting competition in Sacramento.

In 2019 Matt was picked as one of the lead instructor for Sage's inaugural On the Water Trout School at Sage Lodge in Livingston, MT.
